We all have the seed of the Buddha within ourselves. To awaken and cultivate this seed we need three elements – Morality, (soil) generosity (water) and meditation (sunlight). By becoming a member of Santipada’s community, you are committing to the awakening and cultivation of Buddha’s seed within and helping others seeking spiritual growth and fulfilment.
Membership is a monthly commitment in the practice of generosity but what does this mean in terms of the Dhamma? Water represents the symbolic life giving qualities of the Dhamma in Buddhism. We take inspiration from the flow of water providing and sustaining life such as the rain, streams, rivers and the vastness of the ocean on which our biosphere depends. Like the water, your generosity provides spiritual sustenance for yourself and all living beings.
Membership Categories & Benefits
The benefits of a full calendar year of monthly donations to Santipada are as follows.
Dhamma Ocean & Beyond – $100 per month or more. Benefits include, subscription to Santipada’s monthly newsletter, spiritual guidance and 10 days or more annual membership retreat.
Dhamma River – $80 per month. Benefits include, subscription to Santipada’s monthly newsletter, spiritual guidance and an 8 day annual membership retreat.
Dhamma Stream – $50 per month. Benefits include subscription to Santipada’s monthly newsletter, spiritual guidance and an 5 day annual membership retreat.
Dhamma Rain – $30 per month. Benefits include subscription to Santipada’s monthly newsletter, spiritual guidance and an 3 day annual membership retreat.
Retreat extensions are available on request with notice. Extensions can either be added as general retreat paid days, or volunteer days.
(If you are living other than New Zealand and Australia, your eligible retreat days will be rollover.)
